I'm Helga Bluestone, an RN with multiple interests as well as experience and a massage therapist, soon to take a national massage exam in order to apply for my license in North Carolina.

Helga Bluestone's Bio She's been a Registered Nurse since 1982, after graduating from Riverside Hospital School of Professional Nursing.  During her career, she's worked at community hospitals, an Army hospital and two academic medical centers.  I've worked in the Cardiac Care Unit, the Operating Room, LTC, Flu, Clinics, and was the DON of a developing Home Health Care agency, supplying Nursing Aides to Medicare patients.  She has taught surgical technology studentsduring  their clinical training, after revising the program; written the policy and procedures for RN's and CNA's, including teaching RN's how to do a proper intake assessment, plan patients' CNA schedules and revised every single assessment previously done, to bring documentation up to Medicare standards and taught BCLS for over 10 years.  She was CNOR certified for close to 12 years. In 1996-97, after having spent a lifetime giving massages, Helga Bluestone decided to make it official and went to an accredited massage therapy school. SheI had a small but growing private practice for about 2 years, but ended up having to take time off from nursing and massage in 1998.  Why is she only now getting around to getting my license?  The moving gremlins took hid her certificate away during one move, and only returned this past April.  Since then she's been reviewing to prepare for the mBLEX exam, one step towards licensure. Her plan is to combine nursing knowledge and massage knowledge, and will have to maintain both licenses as Helga Bluestone, Nurse Massage Therapist. Her goal is to work as a medical massage therapist, using lymphedema therapy as well as working with clients who are in pain, whether acute pain from a surgical procedure or an injury as well as those with chronic pain.
